On Jan. 5, the world finds out the 2013 contest for FIRST robotics!!!  So exciting!  This will be broadcast on the web from NASA!

Our plan for Jan. 5:
  • A small group will be going to Georgia Tech to pick up the robot parts. Team members need to sign up online and have parents approve before going!

  • At 2pm on Saturday, Jan. 5, anyone interested in FIRST is invited to hang out at Lanier High in Room 400 and talk about the contest, to be a part of the team!
If you can't make it then, just follow this site for more meetings, and watch the kickoff LIVE on NASA TV, starting at 10:30: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html
(Remember, we are ALL beginners, so don't be shy!  Parents, especially engineering types, are welcome too!)
  • We will most like brainstorm about the rules and ideas until about 6pm, then break for the day.
  • We will meet up again Monday, Jan. 7, after school, to share more ideas.
  • While we can meet every day, don't feel like you have to.  Be as involved as you'd like!
  • Our general timeline:  design the robot in 2 weeks, build it in 3 weeks, done.
